We began in 2023 as a student project at Zhejiang University — business and engineering majors from around the world, building climate-tech software that helped governments and enterprises manage circular-economy mandates.
That work took us into governments and state-owned enterprises across China and Southeast Asia, and taught us a lesson about fit: public-sector projects follow procurement cycles built for far larger, more patient companies. Meanwhile, the family-run SMEs we kept meeting were running serious operations on spreadsheets and memory — with no one building reliable systems for them.
So in 2025, after graduating and carrying what we’d learned into top technology firms and research institutes across Asia, we founded MJCX Studio: enterprise-grade systems for family-run businesses, delivered and priced for family-run businesses.

Monish Mithra Waran (马均杰)

Monish studied automation engineering at Zhejiang University on a full scholarship. His first company — a climate-tech venture in Haining — began on a RMB 100K provincial grant and grew into a nationally designated Science & Tech SME.
That work led to UNEP’s regional consultation on digital product information systems, where he contributed from the private-sector group: an online session of around sixty specialists from government, business and civil society, with the European Commission, ITU and the Wuppertal Institut presenting. The IFC and Ant Group named him a global ambassador of 10×1000 Tech for Inclusion. He has spoken at the INCLUSION Conference on the Bund, at the Royal Academy of Engineering in Bangkok, and at the Beijing Circular Economy Industry Forum.
MJCX grew out of those years: a studio that works across China, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore, built on factory visits and referrals. Nothing gets proposed unless the payback is visible on the client’s books — and when MJCX isn’t the right fit for an operation, he says so early, rather than take on the wrong work.
Leonard Davidson (李明全)
Co-founder & Technical Director
Leonard studied automation engineering at Zhejiang University’s joint program with UIUC, published research on concurrency optimization, and built his first production systems in the field: IoT waste-tracking infrastructure across Indonesia and Malaysia.
His systems have grown in scale since: a fault-diagnosis engine for industrial equipment, aquaculture monitoring across 16 live ponds, and an ERP that carries 29,000+ customers. Six production systems now run across three countries. The World Young Scientist Summit invited him among 800 researchers from 71 countries. He is finishing a data-science master’s at ZIBS.
He also wrote Engram, the studio’s proprietary AI engineering layer. It maps a system completely before anything changes, so upgrades don’t fail quietly, and it cuts the cost of running AI on the codebase by roughly 93% — roughly doubling how fast we build. That is how our team delivers in weeks what others take months.
